His work in mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other commercial transactions involves representation of management teams, individual investors, and corporate buyers and sellers. In addition to transactional work, Jeffrey has assisted clients in the formation of start-up businesses, the raising of debt and equity capital and the negotiation and resolution of complex shareholder disputes. Prior to joining Reavis Cianciolo LLC, Jeffrey practiced for 8 years in the corporate and securities group at the Providence law firm of Duffy Sweeney & Scott. After law school, Jeffrey served for a year as law clerk to Rhode Island Superior Court Judge Judith C. Savage. Jeffrey received a BA from Boston College in 1991 and his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island (state and federal) and in Massachusetts. Jeffrey is an active member of the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Business Organizations Committee and is also a member of the American Bar Association Section of Business Law. Mr. Cianciolo, along with a select group of Rhode Island business law attorneys, participated in a 2 year project to revise and update Rhode Island's antiquated Business Corporations Act. The project resulted in the passage of R.I.G.L. Chapter 7-1.2 during the 2005 legislative season. Jeffrey has been a frequent speaker at seminars on business law issues including:
Jeffrey serves on the Board of Trustees of the Community Preparatory School and the Board of Directors of the East Greenwich Soccer Association.
Jeffrey is a founding board member of the East Greenwich Education Foundation (www.egefri.org) and serves as the organization's treasurer. Jeffrey currently serves as Town Moderator for the Town of East Greenwich and has held that position since 2006. |
